Meet The Teaching Team

Miss Jones

I have been a teacher at Welshampton Primary School since 2013 and I have enjoyed every minute of it!

When I am not teaching, I like to stay active and so you may just find me swimming in the sea or climbing a mountain (but not at the same time!) I live at home in Shrewsbury with my beautiful family; my three daughters and my partner. We have a mischievous dog who we enjoy walking and currently we are attempting to train him to run alongside us as we cycle-it is not going well!

I love Mexican food and so at the weekend we quite often cook up a huge meal, which we then like to share with family and friends. I absolutely love listening to music, especially while cooking in the kitchen alongside my girls. I feel incredibly lucky to be a teacher as I am passionate about my profession and the responsibility that it brings. Everyday is different and exciting and whilst the challenges may be great, the rewards are incredible.

Mrs Curzon

I’m a teaching assistant working in Oak Class. This will be my fifth school year at Welshampton; previously working at our federated school in Newtown, where I live.

I have a passion for maths and enjoy sharing this with the children. I also love music. I’m a member of Wem Taiko Drummers (Japanese drumming) and regularly perform at festivals with the group.

In my spare time I love reading and walking in Wales with my family. I have recently discovered the joy of wild-swimming so hope to do more of this in the future.

Miss Kerr

As a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a teacher. After finishing my studies, I pursued my passion by obtaining a three-year degree in Childhood and Youth studies at college and university. I then completed a primary PGCE, which included working in Year 5 and Year 2 classrooms during two placements. This experience provided me with a broad range of teaching skills within different key stages.

After qualifying as a teacher, I was assigned a role as a Year 4/5 teacher at a school in Oswestry where I live.
I have absolutely loved my first year at Welshampton and I am thrilled to be joining Oak class. I cannot wait to start my new journey within this class.

In my free time, I love spending time with my family - my partner and four beautiful children. I also enjoy reading, swimming, shopping and going on long family walks. Additionally, I have a passion for dance and am a big fan of the television programme Strictly Come Dancing.
