Meet The Teaching Team

Mrs Liley

I was very lucky to start my very early teaching career at Welshampton Primary school in 2001. I was a newly qualified teacher and felt honoured to work in such a beautiful school.  After a year I headed back to my university city of Nottingham and worked in a range of inner city primary schools.  This was a valuable experience and one I thoroughly enjoyed.  I was however always keen to bring up my children in my home county of Shropshire so I moved back in 2006 and applied for a part time position back at Welshampton in 2010.  For several years I worked across the Key Stages enjoying the challenges that brought.  As my children grew older I became a full-time member of staff and still feel honoured to work in such a unique school.  I was thrilled to be appointed the role of Deputy Headteacher in 2021 and to support the leadership of a school I have a real passion for.

I now have two teenage children who keep me very busy with their rugby, drama and socialising as well as being a constant taxi for them both,  In my free time I love being with my lovely family and great friends, walking in our idyllic countryside and exploring new countries and cities.

Ms Truswell

My love of teaching began as an early age and I have always known that teaching would be my dream job.  I completed my BEd in Education and Early Years in 2004 and my first job was at a school in Leicestershire in a  Reception class.  Since then, I have worked in a range of settings and schools.  I have been fortunate enough to work as a Forest School leader, lead a Nursery and work alongside other practitioners as a Children's Centre Advisory Teacher and in mainstream schools across the Key Stages.  I am so excited to have a role at Welshampton finally.  After 7 years of drop-offs and pick-ups as a parent, I finally have the joy to come to work with my Welshampton family and it is such a privilege.

I currently work part time at school so I can continue to spend time with my family and friends who live near and far!  In my spare time, I enjoy walking our Goldendoodle around the beautiful Shropshire countryside and taking her to dog training, which we are both terrible at!  I love enjoy taking my daughter out on paddleboard adventures!

Mrs Edge

In 2010  I volunteered at Welshampton with 'Passion for Learning' which was an initiative that encouraged children to develop their social skills.  Whilst doing this I qualified as a Teaching Assistant and became a full-time member of staff working initially as a 1:1 and then becoming a TA working across the Key Stages.  I have run the 'Sunrise' club for many years as well as many after-school clubs.   In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends; especially looking after my young granddaughter.  I have a passion for travel and try to explore new places as often as I can.

OUR VISION

'Let your light shine' encapsulates the school's commitment to provide an enriching education which is deep and broad.
